Visitors Welcome
Cross Stitch Pattern Becomes A Quilt
November?...Now how did
that happen? I don’t know about you, but I’m really confused. I’d like to know
how we got to November when I still have stuff on my list from January. On that
note, let’s sum up what’s left for the guild this year.
November
will see Shari Brindley and Kim Gros giving some tips and
techniques on those really cute cross stitch inspired quilts. I will also have
another two boxes of books for sale at $1 each. There will be some special
drawings for next month’s meeting. You have be present
to win, so come and bring a friend.
December
will see our annual holiday pot luck dinner and gift exchange. Remember that it
is a member’s only event. Bring a dish to share and your own beverage. The
guild will furnish plates, eating utensils and napkins. Pot luck begins at 6:30
p.m.
For
the fabric gift exchange, I’d like you to consider this theme, “Color Me
Happy”. Bring 1/3 yard of a focus and 1/3 yard of two coordinating fabrics in
colors or theme that make you happy. Then I thought it would be cool for the
February Inner Artist challenge to use the fabric you get to create a “Color Me
Happy” quilt where you use the three you got in exchange and up to three other
fabrics from your stash.
I
will have whatever books are left up for sale, so consider your Secret Stitcher
or favorite friend and get them a book.
Happy Quilting
Lesa Bame, Vice President
848-5844, 409.5051
We now have a nomination for President and
Treasurer!!! So the guild will be voting in November!
We
also had a few people step forward for other positions:
Demonstrations: Jean Brittingham
Library: Kathy Bean (she would like to share
this with someone)
Thank you ladies!!!
We
still need volunteers for Sunshine Lady, Hospitality, Community Quilts,
Newsletter/Bylaws, Mailing/Bylaws, and Library.
Please
think about how much time you have to help out. Some of these jobs don’t
require a lot of time and some do, however, they are needed. Try to see where
one of these jobs will fit into your time schedule. Thanks again.
The
last board meeting of the year is November
